This project consisted of two new high class build residential apartment blocks, both of which were three storeys high. The site is situated adjacent to South Beach in Tenby, and nestles in between the sandy beach and the limestone cliff.

The two buildings consisted of a fully braced steel frame with precast prestressed concrete planks forming the floors and were curved on plan offering excellent views out to sea. The first building contained flats to the two upper floors with a cafe at ground floor level whilst the second building contained flats to upper levels with undercroft parking at ground floor. With regards to the foundations the limestone bearing strata varied across the site and as a result shallow pad foundations were utilised to support the one building and CFA piling used to support the second.

Part of the site involved the construction of large retaining walls to redirect the existing path down to the beach and separate the development from the beach.

Careful consideration was given to the specification for both steel and reinforced concrete at the site to meet the demanding aggressive marine environment.
