The Museum of Military Medicine

10 August 2017

After a very successful pre-application consultation process, a formal planning application has been submitted for the project to construct a new museum opposite the Cardiff Bay train station at the junction of Lloyd George Avenue and Hemingway Road.

The museum aims to tell the story of military medicine and it’s benefits to the wider public in a modern, immersive and interactive way, and will house a fantastic collection of artefacts, including uniforms and insignia, medical, dental and veterinary equipment and ambulances.

The building is wrapped on two sides by the glazed atrium entrance and circulation spaces, enabling movement to be perceived by passers-by, creating activity and interest.

A café, reading room, research facilities and an auditorium will be open for community use, and a bespoke room, specific to the local community has also been included.
